Steps to reproduce:
I installed the flatpak on Debian Bookworm but no printers except print to PDF showed up in the standard dialogue and in the System Dialogue there's an additional option for print to LPR.
Actual results:
I tried adding the permission to the D-BUS session bus which worked for a moment. After a few hours I got a crash and then the printers disappeared again (permission still applied). It should just show the printers. Print to PDF works as a workaround but forces me to use a different tool as the default PDF Application
Expected results:
Printers should appear through the portal as stated in Bug 1411589

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Just to give a small update:
After a restart of Firefox I can see the printer but it disappears after a while (I would say about a day or so). Then after a restart I can print again.
I also deactivated the D-BUS Session permission so that didn't seem to be the problem.

This sounds like an issue with how CUPS is available to the flatpak (I really don't know any details about how flatpak works with this), I strongly suspect that dbus would have no effect on the Firefox print preview (no idea about the system/GTK print preview).
I would speculate that this is the client-side avahi support in CUPS that shows the printer, and in fact contacting the CUPS server doesn't work in this situation.

I'm also realizing that if no local GTK is actually properly setup (just bundled libraries?), then the CUPS server might not even be running.

I am having a similar issue with the Flatpak, I'm not sure if it's the same root cause as OP. I'm currently on Kubuntu 25.10 but this has been an issue as long as I can remember using the Flatpak. FF 145.0.
After system sleep and resume, I can no longer print to my printer from FF, only print to PDF. Quitting and restarting FF restores the printer list.

For me it's not just after sleep and resume (since I rarely do that for other reasons). It's after a few hours after starting it that the printers disappear.
To work around this I changed the handling of PDF Files to external and I'm printing that way. This is a pity though as I'd love to use FF also as the PDF application but this kinda prevents it...
