User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 When attempting to forward more than two documents simultaneously, windows open for each forwarded document, the windows Z-order thrashes for a few seconds, and then Mozilla crashes. The first two of the newly opened windows (first 2 forwarded messages) appear to populate correctly; the rest of the messages remain empty, with (I believe) an Untitled name in the title bar. If I do this with only two messages, it works correctly. The messages do not have any attachments, and appear to be plain-text formatted. FYI, the messages have been moved from the Inbox to another folder. My mail-news has three accounts set up. My guess is that neither of these is related to the problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select three or more messages in the main mail-news message pain. 2. Press the forward button. Actual Results: Multiple windows open in rapid succession, (apparently) one for each message. The first two messages appear to populate, the windows thrash around in z-order, and then mozilla shuts down without any warning or message (within 3 or 4 seconds). Expected Results: Create all message windows without crashing.

Probably bug 169777 Close the program, and delete the "XUL.mfl/XUL.mfasl/XUL FastLoad File" file from your profile folder. (this is fixed in newer builds BTW) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 169777 ***

NOT Resolved! Sorry, this doesn't seem to be a dup of bug 169777. Perhaps I can politely suggest that before closing a bug report, someone contact the reporting person and verify that the the expected "fix" really works?? Thanks.

Possible dup of bug 193351
This one may indeed be due to the same problem as bug 193351, but I can't duplicate that bug's reported behavior. So, this is NOT a dup of bug 193351; but the two may somehow be related.
hmm i can't repro this bug. Only one window opens when i select may messages and click forward-button. Current trunk CVS, Linux.
Dietmar, your build of mozilla is very old. Please see if you can reproduce this in a newer build <ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest-1.3>.
Also: Please tell whether you have any mail-related addons installed, and which theme you use. Forwarding - regardless of how many mails you have selected - should only open ONE window.
this bug is still in mozilla 1.4rc2 and it's highly visible : select 2 or more mails, hit the "forward" button and it crashes. could not be easier... please don't release 1.4 final with this bug ! ps to R.K.Aa : you wrote "Forwarding - regardless of how many mails you have selected - should only open ONE window." no, when "forward messages : inline" is selected in the prefs, it opens one window per selected mail (and then it crashes before anything is displayed in those windows...)
Mozilla 1.4RC 2 Theme Classic : worksforme Mozilla 1.4RC 2 Theme Orbit 3+1 0.0.7.1 : worksforme also Please note that after selection of two (or more) messages, right click on them doesn't permit to forward inline. The only choice is "Forward as Attachments", even with related preference set to "Inline". Behaviors of right-click and Forward button are different. Is it intentional ?
Using Mozilla Nightly ID 2003062205 on Linux with modern theme: I could not reproduce this bug. I selected several messages and clicked on the Forward button: 1 e-mail compose window opened with the selected message shown in the attachment list. Sending the mails confirms that the attachments were attached correctly. I also selected several messages and went through the menu Message>Forward as>Inline. It then opened the same amount of compose windows as I had selected messages. The message was correctly inserted. During all this process, I didn't experience a single crash. Reporter, did you manage to reproduce this bug with a fresh profile?
I can reproduce this every time I try... using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030620, composing plain text messages
I can't reproduce this on a recent cvs build in linux. Can you please use a talkback enabled build, and submit an incident id? thanks.
with a dirty (older) profile dating to 1.2.1 I get the crash. with a clean profile it works just fine. reporter, try with a clean profile. safe to consider this bug closed.
Is this a dupe of bug 205530? (Yes, I know this one came first, but that one's already been confirmed.)
