@ppendler, thanks for the report. A quick thing to check: please verify Firefox is not blocked by the macOS Firewall. You can check this in the macOS System Settings -> Network -> Firewall -> Options.. screen. Alternatively, try temporarily disabling the firewall. In early releases of macOS Sequoia, there were known issues with the macOS firewall which have been since resolved, but checking this would let us rule out a similar problem.
thank you for prompt reply. I am asking about two computers - one with sequoia (and do have firewall on)
the issue that prompted my request for help is wife's older mac air running big sur 11.7.10
- firewall is on; i toggled it off and same problem with new firefox update - no sites are loading, no error messages.
Apologies for not including both computers and OS
please respond to the 11.7.10 OS question with the firefox update?

Could you capture a network log from about:logging as described on https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/networking/http/logging.html#using-about-logging ?
You can attach the file to this bug or send it to mstange@mozilla.com if there are private URLs in it.

console-export-2025-4-9_17-41-10.txtThis is the console dump from my initial failure and then eventual success
This console dump unfortunately doesn't tell us much. Could you please follow the instructions in comment 4 and provide a network log (not console log)? Thank you

I am having the same issue. After restarting my iMac, my Firefox upgraded to 137.0.2 and simply refuses to load any websites. Downgrading to 135 fixes the issue (but creates a new profile).

Could you tell us what version of macOS your system is running? Are there any pending macOS updates? If these updates are applied (if any), does the problem still occur?

macOS Monterey 12.7.6
i'm honestly surprised it's such an old version; i would've expected it to prompt me to upgrade several times by now! i can't update until this evening, though, because i'm working at the moment.

OK, now running Sequoia 15.4.1, same issue — still cannot load any website using Firefox 137.0.2

Do you recall being prompted to give Firefox access to the local network and devices? Have you tried the steps in comment 2? Does the problem persist?

Nope, no prompt for network/device access.
The macOS firewall is inactive, so that's unfortunately not the issue.

An update:
- I left the browser minimized and after a lengthy period (more than 24 hours), it worked as usual. No issues loading anything.
- I restarted the browser, and it reverted to refusing to load any website.
- I continued to check periodically to see if this changed. After about 20 hours, it was behaving as normal again (it may have been less than this, because I was asleep for part of the time, but it was definitely more than 8 hours).
