User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 4.0)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210
The company that I work for, has setup all the workstation PC's to access the
internet through a Microsoft an Internet Security & Access server. (ISA).
The users login to the companies Windows 2000 domain with generic login ID's
based on there job describtion, due to there job's shift work nature, however
to access the internet they are supplied with personal login ID's which allows
access to the Internet. (But not files/print/email, etc).
(This is to allow the company to log & monitor individual internet access,
seperate from the generic logins).
Thus at present I login as my job description, and when I launch Internet
Explorer 5.5SP2, it prompts me for a USERNAME, PASSWORD, and DOMAIN.
Upon entering this info, IE displays the web page(s) I attempt to access.
(i.e. I have access to the web).
However, I wish to use Mozilla, and although I have entered the Proxy server
address into Mozilla's settings, when I attempt to access the web, I am
prompted for a USERNAME, and PASSWORD. (Note:- I am NOT asked for a domain !)
I have tried entering my details in the following format with no sucess:-
---------------------------------------------------------------
Username = USERID
Password = PASSWORD
---------------------------------------------------------------
and
---------------------------------------------------------------
Username = DOMAIN\USERID
Password = PASSWORD
---------------------------------------------------------------
Both of these fail, and the request for a Username & Password immediately
returns.
(i.e. It appears that the Authentication is not working/failing within Mozilla).
The Windows 2000 Domain is running in MIXED mode, rather than NATIVE mode.
The Workstation PC's setup are as follows:-
---------------------------------------------------------------
Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 6a)
Office 97
Internet Explorer 5.5 ServicePack2 (128bit High Enc). (Build 54807.2300)
Mozilla 1.3b (Build ID = 2003021008)
PIII 733Mhz, 128-256Mb
8Gb+ Hdd
The ISA Server is setup as follows:-
--------------------------------------------------------------
Windows 2000 (Service Pack 3)
ISA Version 3.0.1200.166 SP1
(Running "Full Domain Authentication" requried for access).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Mozilla
2.(Proxy settings setup to the company ISA server)
3. attempt to access any external web address
Actual Results:
A pop-up window comes up with:-
Enter Username and Proxy At xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
USERNAME =
PASSWORD =
Expected Results:
Display the Internet/web page.
