User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:138.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/138.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Use Firefox 138.0-1.fc42 (i.e. Firefox packaged by Fedora) on Fedora 42 KDE Plasma with Wayland for a while

Actual results:

  • Address bar is suddenly not clickable, i.e. editable anymore
  • The close-button on the tab is also not clickable anymore

Expected results:

Address bar remains clickable and editable, close button of the tab remains clickable

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Gtk
Product: Firefox → Core

I'm also seeing repeatedly (three times so far today) in the Fedora 42 build of Firefox 138. So far I haven't managed to figure out what triggers it but once it happens the only solution is to close the window and reopen it.

Same bug on Fedora 42, KDE Plasma, Wayland, FF138.
The refresh button, forward and back buttons, Pocket button, account button, extension buttons, and menu buttons also do not react at all to being highlighted or pressed.

Oddly, the home and download buttons do respond, so it's not the entire menu that's not responding.

I'm also having the same bug in the flatpak version of FF138 on Fedora Kinoite 41 with KDE and Wayland
