User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:138.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/138.0
Steps to reproduce:
Tried to pay for something online using my debit card.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:138.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/138.0
Actual results:
The autofill for saved payment methods does not activate, so I have to manually type in all my information every time.
Expected results:
A popup should've appeared in the 1st field allowing me to fill in all of that info with a single click.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Password Manager' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.
Thank you for your bug report!
We could use some more information, especially on which sites the problem occurs and in which country.
Could you also double check that payment methods autofill is enabled in about:preferences -> Autofill -> Save and fill payment methods and if there is at least one payment method stored.

It's happening on PayPal, and it's in the US, and yes, autofill is still turned on for saved payment methods, and yes, there is still a saved payment method.
Here's the webpage: https://i.imgur.com/rRG76V7.png
Clicking the "Card number" field does not make anything appear; no option pops up to fill out that entire form anymore. I don't remember when this started other than it's been at least several weeks.
Thank you for the details!
Is this on https://www.paypal.com/ directly?

Yeah. It's when people send invoices. The URL starts with "https://www.paypal.com/invoice/payerView/details/".

Also, I think I accidentally found a bug with this website. When making an account, I saved the password and username in Firefox, and the next time I tried to log in, it told me what I was putting in was wrong despite autofilling it from what the browser saved when I made the account, so it being wrong should be impossible. I think this was because when I made the account, it stipulated that the password had to have various things, and all I had were 7 lowercase letters and 1 number, and it let me use that password despite it having no uppercase letters or special characters like it said were required, which was weird, because I made a new password with those, and it let me log in this time, so if that's the case, it should either let me forever use the password it allowed me to setup the account with or not let me use it in the 1st place if it's never gonna let me use it again.

Also, it happens on any website where you can get a small PayPal window to pop up without leaving the website: https://i.imgur.com/akaT23p.png

Hi,
I've tested this issue with Firefox 138.0.4 on Windows 11 and macOS 14, but I was unable to reproduce it.
I accessed the PayPal form on the following websites: https://www.paypal.com/, https://www.ko-fi.com/, https://www.allbirds.com/, and clicking the Card number of Expiration date fields correctly triggers the autocomplete dropdown with the stored payment methods (please note that I've used a VPN to simulate a US location).
I've also tried this while having the OS authentication enabled and I still cannot reproduce the issue.
reversalmushroom, could you please share the exact URL where the issue occurs? Thank you in advance!

Okay, can't really provide one for PayPal because I don't have an unpaid invoice, but here's ko-fi:

It's wherever you can pay for things using your debit card through PayPal. If you go to where you input the card info, you're in the right place. I don't know why it works for you but not me.

Thank you for the quick reply!
Indeed, using the link you provided (https://ko-fi.com/summary/3acd9b85-5506-4128-a481-c884e0862953) and selecting the Debit or Credit Card option through PayPal, I am able to replicate the issue on Firefox 138.0.4 and Firefox Nightly 140.0a1 (2025-05-25), on both Windows 11 and macOS 14 (I did not had this payment option on the websites mentioned in Comment 8 - only the PayPal button which redirected to the small PayPal payment window where the autocomplete dropdown is displayed).
Settings the status to "New" and moving this to the "Form autofill" component.
I am also updating the flags accordingly.
Note: the issue is not reproducing in Chrome - autocomplete dropdown is correctly triggered.

I think I'm experiencing the same bug. These are my symptoms. It happens on every web site:
- Web site prompts for a credit card
- I click on an entry field for the CC info.
- While the mouse button is held down, the entry is highlighted, and I can see my data filled in in the entry fields.
- I release the mouse button.
- The entry fields all become blank.
This been happening for a few months now.
