Hi there,
since the firefox version 139 FLATPAK is still affected and the SNAP (from ubuntu) is not i wonder why this difference...
It's pretty good to go all in with flatpak for faster updates and others improvements, please fix this little esthetical "bug".

It uses the remoting name for the icon which since the Flatpak repackages the release tarballs is set to firefox but the icon in Flatpak follows the Flatpak ID which is org.mozilla.firefox. Hence the mismatch and the generic icon.

I have this set https://gitlab.com/projects261/firefox-nightly-flatpak/-/blob/fa1c0b8e6d478461be0a03b616eb1e58a8deba38/org.mozilla.FirefoxNightly.yaml#L33 to workaround. Another workaround is to save a firefox.png in ~/.local/share/icons.

Sorry i didn't get your workaround to save a firefox-symbolic.png in my icons folder, how is this suppose to work?
Thanks for any help :)

A possible workaround to solve issue is to create a file:
sudo touch /var/lib/flatpak/exports/share/applications/firefox.desktop

Then add this configs:

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Firefox
GenericName=Browser web
Icon=com.mozilla.firefox
NoDisplay=true

Then it works!

It's a relative simple issue after all once you figure out how to solve it.
Hope this will help to close it!
