Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 When one saves a JPEG image using "Save Image As..." and choosing file format "JPEG Image", the file is saved correctly IF the filename ends in .jpg. If not, then the file is given the type "TEXT" under the Macintosh file system. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on a JPEG image, and choose "Save Image As..." from popup menu 2. Check that the selected format to save as is "JPEG Image" 3. Edit the filename to remove the ".jpg" extension 4. Activate the "Save" button. Actual Results: The file is created, but it is of type TEXT. The creator attribute is set properly, and I can double-click it to get Mozilla to open it again. But other image-editing applications won't recognize it. Expected Results: Save the file as type "JPEG" no matter whether or not the filename ends in ".jpg"

Michael, 1.2.1 is too old for bug reporting purposes. Please retest using a current nightly build.

I just tested it on the latest 1.3 build (2003021217) for MacOS X, and the problem is still there.
