The following is copied from bug 1867499 comment 5 (2024-01-09 08:25 EST) and 10 (2024-03-06 08:42 EST)

I noticed that, after I edited the title for some KB articles to remove unneeded capitalization (for example, I changed "Using Pocket Offline" to Using Pocket offline" and "Getting Started with Pocket for Android" to "Getting started with Pocket for Android" for the https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-pocket-offline and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/getting-started-with-pocket-for-android articles) any wikilinks using the old titles no longer linked to the articles but instead opened in the "Create a new Knowledge Base article" page (no redirects were created). This was fixed for one article that included two such wikilinks - see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-pocket-on-kindle-devices/history - but other articles may be affected.

we'll also need to address the problem of changing the title of an article when only the case of words in the title is changed, so a redirect is created. At the very least, a message should be shown when editing the article title.

Summary: Changes to capitalization in an article title doesn't create a redirect, causing broken links in articles that link there → Changes to capitalization in an article title doesn't create a redirect, causing broken links

Broken links due to an article capitalization change will also occur in SUMO forum posts; for example:

The [[How to Customize Firefox Suggest Settings]] wikilink for the https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-suggest article is broken due to an article title change in capitalization. The current title of the article is "How to customize Firefox Suggest settings".
EDIT 09-26-2025: The article title was again changed (not by me), to "Customize Firefox Suggest settings".

I submitted and later resubmitted a revision with changes to the Title "Capitalization" section of the Writing guide for Knowledge Base articles KB article, as shown here. My resubmitted revision was deferred with the comment, Alice, thank you for contributing to this KB with this specific rule. For now, I'll not approve it, until I check in with the SUMO content team about it. Once we agree that the rule is OK, I'll approve it.
My original submission is still pending. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/writing-guide-knowledge-base-articles/history
