[rfe] add folder properties to allow user to disable automatic junk mail analysis on a per folder basis. right now, we only skip it for trash and junk. ninosckha hit this on her bugzilla bug email folder blizzard hit this on his archived inbox folders. it could go in the folders properties dialog, and then in the backend, we'd check if the folder was ok for auto analysis. manual analysis would still work.
I'm getting direct email about this from power filter / imap users.

Perhaps attaching all junk filtering features to the common mail filtering would make the job. I'm not sure, whether it fits your intentions, I walked trough related webpages, and it seems, that there is a goal defined to support junk classification in mail filters. The simple solution then would be to place junk recognizing filter in the line of sorting filters (or tweak the junk filtering per filter), and drop the check on folder open, in other words, the junk status would be evaluated as the filters were applied. I'm not sure, it is a good idea at all.
dupe of or blocking bug 180855?
