User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:140.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/140.0

Steps to reproduce:

From preferences I have menu enabled
Open Firefox, minimise Firefox to taskbar, click on the firefox icon to restore the application.

Actual results:

the menu flashes across the browser display In a huge font

Expected results:

a blank page should be displayed

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Layout: Text and Fonts' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Layout: Text and Fonts
Product: Firefox → Core

It actually flashes across any page that is displayed. It's just more visible on a blank page. It only flashes for one windows message cycle.
It took many attempts to screen shot it.

This doesn't look like a Layout: Text bug; more likely to be a graphics (webrender?) glitch of some kind. Moving to Graphics for triage. (Or might it be Widget: Win32?)

How about this? We have a tool called Mozregression which is really useful for Bugs that are easily reproducible. Would you please follow the instructions here, and it should give you a URL of a regression range of possible code landings that caused this behavior?

Meanwhile I'll see if I can reproduce on my Windows system.

Have tried to reproduce without success. Marking as STALLED until we can find someone who can reproduce and run a mozregression.

A couple of things that you could try to help us narrow down the cause:

  • Your GPU driver version is from 2023 - is it possible to update this to a more recent driver?
  • You have multiple monitors attached - could you remove one of the monitors and check if you're able to repro in that case?

Since the bug is closed, the stalled keyword is now meaningless.
