Details

Firefox for Android

Steps to reproduce:

Enabling "Use third party CA certificates" in the "Secret settings" menu, used to allow a client certificate to be selected, when requested by the server.

At some point in the past months, the certificate selection pop-up no longer appears and no certificate is sent.

I am using Firefox for android v. 140.0 (Build #2016097286). Several other users are reporting the same issue here:

https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/allow-personal-certificates-in-firefox-mobile/idi-p/176

apparently, the regression happened somewhere between Firefox 139.0.4 (exclusive) and Firefox 140.0 (inclusive).

Actual results:

No certificate selection prompt appears, no certificate is sent to the server.

Expected results:

A client certificate selection prompt appears, authentication to the remote server proceeds with the selected certificate (if any).

I'm sorry for commenting here, but I do not have permission to comment on bug #1966565 after it has been closed.

I can confirm that this particular bug is now fixed in Firefox nightly 142.0a1 (Build #2016101503). However, I am experiencing other odd behavior with certificate selection, which I'll file a new but. Thanks for your work Dana .
