User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 14; Mobile; rv:140.0) Gecko/140.0 Firefox/140.0

Steps to reproduce:

--Use Firefox on a Redmi device running HyperOS

--Start downloading a file (e.g., PDF, image, video). Try to take a long size file where you can understand the issue if you get time.

--Use the classic notification shade which is normally used in hyperos (HyperOS-style) or Search in settings Notification Shade

-----Also check the in-app download status (This is Not showing normally)

Actual results:

A notification appears showing that a file is downloading

In classic HyperOS notification shade, the notification does not show:
Real-time download speed
Completed size
Total file size

When switching to Android-style notification shade, it does show:
Remaining time
Completed and total size
But not real-time speed

In both cases, the Firefox app itself does not show any active download section in the app—the downloaded file only appears after it finishes.

Expected results:

The xiaomi redmi notification should always display:
Real-time download speed
Completed size vs. total file size
Estimated time remaining (consistently across notification styles)

The Firefox app should have a visible active download interface, showing:
File name
Progress (bar or percentage)
Download speed
Total size/Remaining Size
Estimated time remaining

Hey,
Thanks for reporting this bug! This seems like we have multiple bug reports in one and in the future, it would be best to report separate bugs for this so that it can be tracked appropriately.

  • In terms of the HyperOS notification shade not showing download speed, file size downloaded so far, and total file size, that seems like a bug and we will take a look into that. I don't have the reporter's device. Can QA please try to repro this and confirm the bug?
  • For the download not showing in-app (on the downloads screen), this is expected. At the moment, it's only visible in v142 nightly. It will not ride the trains to release until Bug 1969283 is complete but we will probably do this for v142. I will update the bug summary accordingly

Issue Summary: Download Notification Bug on Firefox Nightly/Dev Browser (Redmi K50i – HyperOS)

1. Device & OS:
Xiaomi Redmi K50i running HyperOS.

2. Browser Version:
Using Nightly/Developer version of this latest browser (likely v142).

3. Issue Description:

  • Download notification appears while downloading files.
  • However, it doesn’t show real-time download speed or progress size (e.g., “15 MB / 100 MB”).

4. Observed Workaround:

  • Long-pressing the notification shows total size and downloaded size once.
  • But real-time updates stop after that.
  • Repeating the long-press later shows only the updated downloaded amount, not live progress.

5. Expected Behavior:
Download notification should show:

  • Real-time download speed
  • Downloaded size / Total size (e.g., "27 MB / 100 MB")
  • Live progress updates

6. Reproducibility:
Happens consistently across downloads in the current browser version.
