Steps to reproduce:

The issue should also be on the current main. Same effect with vertical tabs on the right or the left side of the screen.

Steps to reproduce:
1- Have vertical tabs expanded
2- Open two or more pinned tabs
3- Select a pinned tab that isn't the rightmost one
4- Drag it all the way to the right
5- Release the tab

Actual results:

The tab goes back to its initial position

Expected results:

Releasing the tab should leave it as the rightmost tab

I was able to reproduce the issue on Win11x64 using Firefox build 140.0.4.
Could not found a reliable regression but the issue started reproducing from 3th of June. Marking issue as new.

Verified as fixed with Firefox 144.0a1 (20250825155516) and Firefox 143.0b4 (20250825091315) on macOS 14, Windows 10 and Ubuntu 22.
