User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 15; Mobile; rv:141.0) Gecko/141.0 Firefox/141.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Firefox on Android and switch to a Private Browsing tab
- Browse any website in Private mode
- Tap the menu button and select "Quit" (ensure "Clear browsing data on quit" is enabled in settings)
- Reopen Firefox
Note- This version is updated through Galaxy store [ 141.0]
Play store have still [140.04]
Bug occurring since 17 July 2025.
Actual results:
After quitting and reopening Firefox:
- The browser opens in Normal mode (correct)
- However, the Normal tab's homepage displays the Private Browsing explanation message (incorrect)
- This behavior only occurs when using the "Quit" option - normal closing/reopening works correctly
- The message persists until the user switches to private and then normal tab.
Expected results:
After quitting and reopening Firefox:
- The browser should open to a fresh Normal tab with the default Firefox homepage
- The Private Browsing explanation message should only appear when:
- A new Private tab is explicitly opened
- The user is actively in Private Browsing mode
