User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:143.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/143.0
Steps to reproduce:
Run the firefox session with 3 windows (may be more) on Linux Wayland wuth hdr enabled and wayland.vsync enabled.
Actual results:
One of the winodws often appeard transparent - only windiw decoration painted. But it is fynctional - if I click where the menue shpuld be I get the pop-up menu.
If I restart the ff (sometimes it tales several restarts) I can finally get all windows OK and functional.
If I disable vsync - windows are always OK but I have terrible CPU use by compositor a t idle (known bug but seems to be wontfix in favor of always use vsync enabled)
If I disable hdr (and wayland layer compositing) - windows are always OK.
Running another ff instance with other profile also affects the bug - f/e after starting the 3-window instance if I start aother instance with alternative profile and only 1 window it still can get transparent, and also after restart (or many restarts) it becomes normal.
if window is painted OK after start - it continues to be good all the time, so it never happens anytime other than on first openng of the window.
Expected results:
hdr/vsync/wayland compositing works OK no matter how many ff windows are opened.

Desktop Environment mate - which compositor is that? Can you try Gnome or KDE?

That's how it looks like
In 4 restarts it became normal. Sound in the background was from youtube video that was invisibly playing within transparent window.
Compositor is wayfire.
Can not test it with gnome or kde unfortunately - do not have them installed

Looks like wayfire issue.

testing with this PR as well as with your latest autoland merges and so far so good.

It looks like Firefox waits for the first vsync to render the content. Should Firefox always triggers a vsync when a window is shown?

well - seems the wayfire PR did fixed that. Now window that was broken before opens transparent - wait a second and then paint the contents. And no issues after. So if that is really wayfire only issue not affecting Gnome-KDE then the isse is to be closed I guess.
