Thank you for the report!
I am unable to reproduce this issue on a Samsung Galaxy S24 (Andorid 15), Google Pixel 6 (Andorid 16), Lenovo TB X606X (Andorid 10), on the 141 Firefox for Android.
Could you provide us the following:
- the device you have encountered this issue on?
- a short video with the issue, less than 10MB?
- is this issue occur everytime, or is it intermittent?

- Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. I'm fairly sure the device shouldn't matter as it seems to be an issue with how Firefox is handling the shortcut.
- No. I could very easily record a video, but it's way too simple of an issue to warrant going through the trouble. You tap the private browsing shortcut, a non-private browsing window opens. Use your imagination and visualize those exact steps.
- 100% of all the time.

I believe OP might be mistakenly saying that they're opening a private window using the shortcut.
I believe what they're trying to report is the following.
Prior to version 141, if you tapped the private tab button (top-right mask icon) on the homepage, then opened a private tab, then closed and reopened the browser, it remembered that you wanted a private window.
Now, if you close a private window then reopen Firefox, it opens a regular homepage (and tab).
I can provide a video but there's no way to upload a mobile video using mobile Bugzilla 😞.

No, what I was unmistakenly saying is that I opened a private window using the shortcut and that stopped working. Whatever convoluted scenario you came up with is just non-canon fan fiction. It's not about Firefox remembering whatever type of window I had opened before, it's about doing what it promises: Always open a private window when I use the private window shortcut 100% of every time.

I assumed this bug report would be closed by now since the issue appeared to have been fixed. Anyway, it's good it's still open because someone screwed up again because the same bug returned after a couple of days of things working as they should.
Firefox for Android 141.0 Build #2016102631.
I know that professional environment this, respectful that, yadda yadda. However, I'm not a professional programmer, I'm a user who's frustrated with software being release with glaring flaws and, as such, and I shouldn't be expected to mince words to spare feelings. So to be very clear: Get your shit together, Firefox.
