Preconditions
Toggle on "Enable Homepage as a New Tab" from Secret Settings.
Sign in with a Mozilla account that has a tab open on another device.
Have minimal browsing history.
Have at least one bookmark saved.
Steps to reproduce
- Open Fenix, navigate to the History menu
- Tap on any link
- Repeat the same steps for Bookmarks and Synced tabs
Expected behavior
The links open in the current tab.
Actual behavior
The links open in a new tab. There still is a tab with the Homepage opened.

- Firefox version: 143.0a1 (Build #2016106786)
- Android device model: Google Pixel 9 Pro XL
- Android OS version: Android 15

Please note that when opening pages from the Homescreen sections of every mentioned menu, the pages open in the current tab.

Hi Gabriel, I just verified the bug on a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL running Android 15 with the latest Nightly build from 2025-08-27, and the issue looks to be fixed.
My only question is if opening a synced tab from Homepage → Jump back in → See all synced tabs should open a new tab and keep the Homepage tab open.
