Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable The New Toolbar
  2. Load A Webpage

Expected behavior

We should see a new style progress bar as detailed here https://m3.material.io/components/progress-indicators/overview

Actual behavior

Old style progress bar

  • Android device model: Pixel 8 Pro

Sorry for causing you extra work Petru. I thought it should block 1948655 because that was where it was implemented as part of the Composable Toolbar work. Hence also 1981525

No problem. Is just that a "Material 3 progress bar" was not in scope for the composable toolbar work.
Not sure what this would even mean for us, seems like just the "end stop indicator to improve accessibility"?
This would have to be investigated/validated by UX so I linked the ticket to the "Material 3" meta to get it more visibility.

That depends on whether one targets Material Expressive. Considering that Expressive first requires M3 and M3 You support, there really, really should be a separate meta-issue, on par with the general M3 support ticket, that formally discusses whether both or either Material You and Expressive and desirable targets. M3 doesn't require either You or Expressive support, although at least You is expected. Expressive is separate.
