Steps to reproduce:
- Update Firefox
- Roll the dice to see if you get the updated progressively rolled out menu
- Open menu
Actual results:
The new progressively rolled out "..." navigation/quick access menu obscures the majority of the screen when viewing web content. This sort of negates the whole purpose of having the forward/back buttons if you can't even see the content you're supposed to be navigating!
Secondly, opening a new tab is now a hassle. Before, there was a "New Tab" button right in the menu, right below the "..." button. Now, I have to click the "Tabs" icon, reposition my hand and swing my thumb all the way to the bottom of the screen to open a new tab.
This menu is a UX nightmare, and a completely unnecessary change. It might make sense on a tablet interface, but it's completely nonsensical on a phone, especially with the top address bar option being used. I would consider this UI change a defect, because obscuring the screen when you're trying to navigate defeats the entire purpose.
Expected results:
It should have opened the old menu.
