So I have to poll if I get new mail. PS : I have no sound card for sound notification. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
wfm with all builds. Last build i tried is Trunk from yesterday Currently using Mandrake 9.1 RC2 and both sound and icon notify me of new mail arrival on my Imap account.
But on my suse linux with Motif window manager I didn't get icon notify.
ska: I am unfamiliar with Linux desktops, but: do you mean the program icon (the visual indicator that the MailNews program is running)? If so, that is bug 137462. If you mean a special 'new mail' icon (equivalent to the icon that appears new in Windows' system tray when new mail arrives), I am unaware of any other bugs for this problem.
mcow: if you icon your running program under UNIX it is still running (Mozilla still check for new mail). It is possible to change the Icon if new mail arrive so you are able to see there is new mail. (Netscape mail do it and this is a great feature). Yes you are right the problem is discussed in bug 137462.
