User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:142.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/142.0

Steps to reproduce:

(Multiple email accounts (pop, outlook, gmail, gmx, etc)).

  • Define a delay (~15 minutes) for "check for new messages every" (settings).
  • Put the mac to sleep.
  • Awake the Macbook next day (or few hours later) with network connection available after few seconds.
  • It take 15 minutes until the next check.
  • I expect it will be "the preview date" - now (and not now + 15 minutes).

No specific verison. Currently on 142 but same result with the previous releases.
Mac OS 12.7.6 (21H1320)

Eckard, does this reproduce for you?

Flags: needinfo?(de.berberich)

I tested on my iMac macOS 12.7.6 TB 142.0 same conditions as in description.
Woke up my iMac after a two hour sleep, waited between five and ten seconds until messages were downloaded automatically, both POP and IMAP.

vlad are you still seeing this issue with a newer version?

Can you check to see what's going on at Developer Tools > Network with Requests enabled?

Thanks Eckard. 5-10 seconds is not bad.

Sure, I love Thunderbird.
Setting "Check for mail on startup" is checked.
-> When I active app all mails are pulled : ok
-> When I wake up my Mac, I need to wait until next delay (set to 15 / 30 minutes for both accounts).
-> Excepted behavior is to check account as soon as the network connection is available (< 30 seconds).

Flags: needinfo?(mp.sg2xgkt)

-> the network is not available until ~ 30 seconds on wakeup, I suppose Thunderbird retrieving emails but it fails because there is no network, which comes back after about 30 seconds...
