User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:141.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/141.0
Steps to reproduce:
Same issue as https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/168971 :
Enter valid email and password in account.apple.com (or icloud.com).
Right-click, "Reveal password", make sure it is correct.
Press Enter.
Actual results:
Website shows a sign-in error: "failed to verify your identity, try again".
Expected results:
The website should have accepted my password, and proceeded to show a request for a two-factor code.

The error occurs when using Firefox installed automatically by Ubuntu, as a snap package (141.0.3, "canonical-002 1.0").
The error does not occur using Firefox tarball downloaded from the website
(141.0.3, x86_64, en_GB. https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/141.0.3/linux-x86_64/en-GB/ )
Nor does it occur using the official flatpak (142.0).
In each case, I created a new Firefox profile when trying to reproduce the error.

Came to report the same - When attempting to login to icloud.com or account.apple.com using Snap Firefox 141.0.3 (64-bit), I get the message "Failed to verify your identity. Try again.". Works in Chomium on the same machine and Chromium presents password as well as passkey options. Firefox doesn't show passkey. I'm on Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS.
I have tried (with the Snap version):
-clearing everything
-troubleshooting mode
-refresing Firefox
-uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox with no extensions, standard security setting
-disabling pihole for all the above
-not being connected to any VPN
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:141.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/141.0
Installed Flatpak version, no issues logging in to icloud.com or account.apple.com

I will add a third to this, the issue has been ongoing for several days. Chrome works, Firefox flatpak and tarball work. I have completely cleared all info, refreshed firefox, no extensions, whitelisted icloud for security settings, and create a new profile.

Just updated to 142.0 via the normal repository channels. Still have the same problem.

For anyone affected, just changing your user agent string will unblock you for now: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1983681#c20
