User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030314 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030314 Java plugin stopped working after upgrade to final 1.3. It did work in 1.3b, 1.3a, and ealier. I did relink /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.1_02/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so to /usr/lib/mozilla-1.3/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so. "Help/About Plug-ins" shows correct version of Java plugin, "Tools/Web Development/Java Console" is dimmed out though, and applets are not working. Did reproduce this problem on two systems, both running RedHat 8.0. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Is this a mozilla build from mozilla.org ?
It was installed from RPMs from mozilla.org for RedHat8 (mozilla-1.3-0_rh8_xft.i386.rpm, ...)
You need to ensure the compiler used to build the Java plugin matches that of the browser. The rpms use gcc3 but Sun's current plugin was built with gcc2. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 197360 ***
