As per the support chart here: https://www.smbc.co.jp/hojin/valuedoor/help/kankyo.html
I will try logging in with Chrome Mask

Despite the support matrix, I succeeded in logging in with Firefox using digital certificate authentication without even using Chrome Mask or having any "unsupported browser" warnings.
It wasn't entirely smooth though: the certificate selection box popped up twice (maybe because I had DevTools open?) and the Windows confirmation dialog showed up in the background (which happens in Edge too) and the windows bar even disappeared.
I need to retry and see how much of that is reproducible. Also, I've yet to try IC card login.

Second attempt I didn't have to choose the certificate twice and the Windows taskbar didn't disappear. However, the issue where the Windows confirmation dialog showed up in the background persisted.
I see the same behavior in Edge, however, so it's probably not critical to fix.
I see an old SO post mentioning this issue: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/43939884/windows-cryptoapi-private-key-dialog-box-not-at-front

This is the Window security dialog that appears in the background.
In English it looks like this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4253611/windows-11-keeps-asking-me-to-allow-crypto-api-pri

Just tested with IC card reader and it worked without problem. I think this is WORKSFORME but I'll leave it open for until I try to reach out to SMBC to see if they can change their support guidance.

I tried to contact SMBC today but two of their inquiry forms appear to be broken (in both Firefox and Chrome at least):
https://pub.msg.smbc.co.jp/contact_list_otoiawase_form_CP02255 works but seems to be more for specific technical support
Instead I went with the general feedback form: https://www.smbc.co.jp/cx/form01.html
