When typing Hangul using ibus-hangul, holding down the backspace key only deletes a single Hangul character block instead of continuously deleting text.

Steps to reproduce:
- Open Firefox (Snap version) or Thunderbird (Snap version) on Ubuntu.
- Switch the input method to ibus-hangul.
- Type several Hangul characters in a text field.
- Press and hold the backspace key.
Actual results:
- Only one complete Hangul character block is deleted.
- Continuous deletion stops immediately after that first character.
Expected results:
Holding down the backspace key should continuously delete characters, regardless of whether Hangul is in block composition or not.

I'm not super-familiar with IME on Wayland... I'm assuming it happens outside snap as well given you could mozregression it, right?
Would be good to have a regression range with MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 in the environment. That'd reveal the "real" regression range. Also curious if this happens in other Wayland applications, or in other GTK applications in particular (think gtk3-demos / gtk4-demos).

Hello, yes, you are correct. I first thought that the bug is only shown in Ubuntu since Firefox from old Debian works well, but it was confirmed that this is not limited to Snap or Ubuntu.

Would be good to have a regression range with
MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1in the environment. That'd reveal the "real" regression range.

Also curious if this happens in other Wayland applications, or in other GTK applications in particular (think gtk3-demos / gtk4-demos).
No application is affected other than Mozilla's so far. This is why I thought it is a bug from Snap release.

Just my guess though, a lot of Korean IME on Linux behave odd. The odd behavior is, they keep composition even when there is no composing string. In this case, looks like Backspace key is consumed by the hidden composition whose composition string is already deleted by the preceding Backspace keys. So, I mean the IME consumes Backspace key events and the host apps cannot handle the events directly.
