User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 13; Mobile; rv:142.0) Gecko/142.0 Firefox/142.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Visit a website with images. Any website should work for this one, but I'll be using this one: https://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=12581946&tags=rating%3Ageneral+pikachu+
  2. Note the content bar at the bottom of the site. Click bottom left button (that will open a full size image in another tab)
  3. Long press on the image > save> go back (click android "back" button) > you're now back to the first tab

Actual results:

  1. "Download in progress..." notification is blocking site controls (bottom bar). It's hard to swipe (requires to be swiped around 60% of the screen space). It won't go away fast, it won't update to "download image_name.jpg".
  2. Repeat "steps to reproduce", and after you press "back" button, swipe the notification and click the bottom left button of the site bottom bar. Click it again a few times. Nothing happens. It seems that some invisible download notification is consuming clicks/touches, preventing them from reaching site's bottom bar. (If you skip "save image" part and go back, bottom bar works as it should, so it's likely download notification's fault)

Expected results:

  1. Any download popups/notifications should not block site content.
  2. Any download popups should not block site content after they have been swiped off screen.
  3. There should be a setting to completely disable these popups (and only display download failure popups)
  4. These popups should be easier to close/swipe. Popups in previous versions of Firefox were already annoying enough, but at least they became hidden when scrolling the site up/down, and it was possible to close them with a single touch.
Severity: -- → N/A
Type: defect → task
