1988359 - Firefox hangs on opening new webpages

Steps to reproduce:

For about a week now firefox has periodically frozen for between 1 to 5ish seconds. This seems to happen when I open or refresh certain webpages, and sometimes on scrolling up or down certain webpages. I can consistently get it to hang by opening a bookmark menu folder with bookmarks to wanikani.com, morsle.fun, inoreader.com and https://wiby.me/surprise/ but it only happens periodically when opening either inoreader or morsle.

Actual results:

I tried running the profiler in the process manager while opening the bookmark folder. Firefox hung for some time before finally loading all the pages. At the end the 5s profile took around 29s. It seems to spend a lot of time in the audioipc part of the program, with most of the time spent on a syscall. But I'm not familiar enough with this kind of thing to tell if that is just some asynchronous process that ends up looking much bigger. https://share.firefox.dev/3K0K4NE

This started around the same time i did a big software upgrade on my fedora 42 computer. As far as I can tell, there hasn't been an update to firefox during that same time, but I don't think I'm seeing updates initiated through the software center.

So it's very possible this is a problem with my system. But I wasn't sure who to report this too so I wanted to start here.

Expected results:

The websites should have loaded with minimal time spent hanging. This is a beefy computer and it hasn't been a problem before now. This happens even if running in firefox in safe-mode.
