1989223 - Adopt Liquid Glass in Firefox Icon in macOS 26 Tahoe

Attachment: Lack of icon depth and Liquid Glass in Default colors

• User goal: As a user, I'd like to set icons to Clear, Tinted, or Dark on macOS Tahoe, while having Firefox fit and look great on my Dock in these variants.
• Problem: As of right now, macOS doesn't even attempt to apply these variants and Liquid Glass effects on its own, because the new guidelines for icons on macOS haven't been adopted yet.

My suggestion & context:

• macOS 26 introduces new guidelines/expectations for app icons, similar to iOS 26/iPadOS 26. Apple expects developers will use Icon Composer going forward for icons, or that developers upload all variants themselves.
• By using Icon Composer, app icons can adopt Liquid Glass, along with Dark, Clear, and Tinted variants.

For what it's worth, it seems that Firefox on iOS/iPadOS just adopted updated icons for iOS 26 and now supports all icon variants, so in theory, these icons could be ported over to macOS.
