Steps to reproduce:

  2. Observe the attached video in the comments

Expected Behavior:
Video plays

Actual Behavior:
There is no video, error message shown

Notes:

  • Reproduces regardless of the status of ETP
  • Reproduces in firefox-nightly, and firefox-release
  • Does not reproduce in chrome

Looks like HEVC is missing in FF in some situations where it's not in Chrome.

The video (https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/176173#issuecomment-3317795365) plays fine on my Firefox Release 142 on Windows 11. The problem is likely caused by no HEVC extension pre-installed.
