Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030324

When I compose a new message, I hit cntl-enter to send the message:

If I'm in the compose part of the message, instead of sending the message, it
merely inserts a return.

If I'm in the addressing or subject part of the message, it changes down to the
the subject or compose part of the email (respectively), then sends.
according to several duplicates, this "regression" is as old as bug 50255

It worked fine in 1.3 release. Which is why I called it a regression: It didn't
work for a while (thus bug 50255), then it did work up until 1.3 (it is fine in
1.3 release), then in 1.4a it stopped working again.

Are you sure this should be a duplicate? It is a subset of 50255, but it was
working in 1.3, which implies that something was checked in for 1.4a that broke
it, not that something older since 2000 hasn't been working.

well i don't know what fixes were applied to 1.3 that aren't on the trunk.
Perhaps the component owner does. Reopening.
