User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:140.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/140.0

Steps to reproduce:

I opened the "Passwords" page via the menu.

Actual results:

The "about:logins" page opens, the entries are displayed in the left column, but the right field remains empty, showing only the three dots for the menu.
Filling in passwords on websites works, but it is impossible to edit or delete passwords.
See attached screenshot.

Expected results:

As before: When I click on an entry in the left column, the corresponding entry should be displayed on the right and be editable.

Component: Untriaged → Password Manager
Product: Firefox → Toolkit

Hello, thank you for the report! Would you be able to provide a browser log for when the issue occurs?

Attached is the console export "console-export-2025-10-17_10-15-59.txt", recorded while opening the password page. Hope this helps!

Apologies, I should have mentioned we'll want to use Firefox's Browser Toolbox developer tool ! This will allow us to get a log of the code running on the about:logins page when you're reproducing the issue. Hopefully we can capture any errors being thrown in those logs.

Thank you!

Sorry, I can't start remote debugging. I get an error message saying the connection failed. Here's the error message with my settings.

And here, together with the contents of the console after opening “about:logins”

I have tried to reproduce this issue using the latest Nightly 146.0a1 but with no success.
Reporter - to bypass the effects of any extensions, you could try Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More details: here.

Sorry, you're right, debugging works in safe mode. Attached is the console log after opening "about:logins".

Sorry, you're right, debugging works in safe mode. Attached is the console log after opening "about:logins".

Apologies, I forgot to mention this in my earlier comment. Could you please confirm whether the issue still occurs while Firefox is running in Troubleshoot Mode?

Flags: needinfo?(Wolf-Dieter.Groll)

Yes, the problem persists even in troubleshoot mode: The entries are displayed in the left column, but the right side remains empty even when clicking on an entry.

The problem currently only affects this installation. Fortunately, it hasn't occurred on other computers yet. I suspect an error in the password database. When I export the passwords as a CSV file and import them on another computer, four entries are not imported and are reported as "Missing Field".

How can the password database be repaired? Ideally, without data loss.
