By the way, our support article (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/web-apps-firefox-windows) mentions pages along with websites, so it would be great to clarify that.

What's more, the UI tooltip says "Add tab to taskbar" (not " Add website to taskbar"), which, from my point of view, means the url should not be truncated.

Firefox Nightly.
A test.
Screenshot1.
https://www.twitch.tv/directory/category/art Add tab to taskbar.
Screenshot2.
Website pinned.
The path portion of the URL gets truncated.
I edited taskbartabs.json with the desired URL, and save.
Close window.
Screenshot3.
Start, website pinned, apparently it works, the path portion of the URL gets not truncated.

I was able to reproduce this issue on Firefox 144.0 on Windows 10 so marking the bug as NEW. In my opinion, this should be classified as a defect so updating the type accordingly.

:Ina truncation is intended, so moving this back to enhancement. Generally, this is something we would like to support eventually, but the default case will remain truncating to the domain.
