Steps to reproduce:

Firefox is running

Sometimes it's right away or when I leave it running for x amount of time when not in use

This happens on all forks and does not go away on new install, firefox refresh, new profile, or on troubleshoot mode.

Actual results:

Firefox freezes and forces me to restart the program. I'm usually greeted with this error message. Sometimes I get a crash report.

Expected results:

Not freeze

Hello! I have tried to reproduce the issue with firefox 144.0 and 146.0a1(2025-10-29) on Windows 10 and Ubuntu 22.04, unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce the issue.
Could you please answer the following questions in order to further investigate this issue

  1. Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
  2. Could you please provide more detailed steps on how to reproduce the issue?
  3. On what OS did you encounter this issue?

Sorry for the late response but it took a lot of trial and error.

On w11, notifications from any website (in my case twitch and ring) will cause firefox to freeze, clicking on the firefox window will make a generic windows error sound, and force the user to kill the firefox process in task manager. Omxe firefox is restarted, the error message I linked will usually take precedent before firefox opens again.

Disabling notifications seems to have stop the issue.

This occurs on any fork of Firefox, on a brand new profile, and even did various windows repair methods.

Omxe firefox is restarted,
*Once Firefox is restarted
