User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:144.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/144.0
Steps to reproduce:
I was excited to bug 1980815 listed as fixed in release notes of 144.0.2 but sadly, it still does not work for me. The weird thing is, when using Ctrl+Cmd+Space, the "Edit" option in menu bar flashes 2+ times, so it's like... some action is triggered there? But the "Emojis & Symbols" popup does not appear.
Recording attached (please note that in total I pressed Cmd + Ctrl + Space 4 times here, the flashing is visible each time).
Reproduced with a clean profile. As mentioned in bug 1982840, the suggested shortcut in "Edit" menu bar is also wrong.
Firefox 144.0.2
macOS 15.7.1
Macbook clamshell mode
External keyboard without Fn key
Actual results:
"Emoji & Symbols" popup does not appear.
Expected results:
Using either Cmd + Ctrl + Space or menu bar option "Edit" -> "Emoji & Symbols" should show "Emoji & Symbols" popup.

:spohl, since you are the author of the regressor, bug 1980815, could you take a look? Also, could you set the severity field?

This is not a regression, but rather it is possible that some edge-case isn't fixed yet. Removing regressor.
@KORraN: Could you provide a screenshot of the Edit menu? When you say that the shortcut "is wrong", could you clarify what you mean?

Sure, it looks the same way, as reported in bug 1982840. It suggests that the shortcut is Cmd + Space, while it is Cmd + Ctrl + Space.

I see. Then is there a reason to think that this bug is not a duplicate of bug 1982840? I was going to look into bug 1982840 next.
It's hard to say for me. They could be somehow related to Firefox's implementation, because I believe the shortcut visible in the "Edit" menu differs from app to app. I.e. ghostty shows the globe key, while Sublime Text Ctrl + Cmd + Space.

I didn't manage to reproduce this issue on Firefox 145.0.2 on macOS 15 Sequoia using a clean profile. Pressing Cmd + Ctrl + Space and selecting Edit - Emoji & Symbols both displayed the popup as expected. The Edit menu shows the suggested shortcut as Fn + E.
This issue might be related to using a mac-compatible external keyboard without an Fn key. Unfortunately I do not have access to such keyboard to investigate further.
