Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1; MultiZilla v1.4.0.2) Gecko/20030312
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1; MultiZilla v1.4.0.2) Gecko/20030312

When viewing a tab in Mozilla, the status bar shows status of some other tab.

This is quite misleading. Besides, the status of the current tab is missing- You
just can't say whether it has finished loading.

When the tab is loading, the tab label shows a red LED and a legend "loading..."
(Thanks to Multizilla); but the Address Bar is entirely blank. I am going to
raise another bug report for this address-bar related issue; but the point here
is- when both address bar and status bar do not show any information about the
URL, how can the user reload the page?

When a user has launched multiple new tabs (say, by CTRL+clicking several URLs
listed on a page); he does not know which tab is loading which URL. So, if
several pages are not loading properly, he has no way of knowing which
particular pages are malfunctioning.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch several URLs in different tabs. Watch the Status Bar in each tab. They
will not show the status of the current tab.

(Example: In step-1 of Bug-reporting, different bugs are shown. If I CTRL+click
on several bug numbers, they will launch in separate tabs)

2. In some cases, the page loads very slowly, and the address bar is blank. This
Actual Results:
1. Status bar shows information about some irrelevant tab.

In some cases, the Address Bar shows "Loading...." in tab label (red LED in the
Multizilla display); but does not load the page. (The display remains unchanged
even after several minutes.)

Expected Results:
1. The status bar should change focus to current tab only. It must not describe
what is happening at the other tabs.

2. The status bar should show which URL is loading.

3. The address bar should also show the URL being loaded.

This problem is there right from Mozilla v1.1.

It has remained unchanged through 1.2, 1.2.1 and now 1.3.
