User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030329 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030329 I´ve got a lot of bookmarks which don´t show a name, or only something as useful as "Untitled Document". If mozilla makes this up, it easily could be replaced with something more meaningful. I would suggest the URL without http://www., and without tld and parameters, if length must be reduced. Of course it will get weird, if you get a really long URI with a lot of subdomains in it. This is just the opposite of Bug 137904 [RFE] show bookmark name as document/window title Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
If I bookmark http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2616.txt, the bookmark name is set to http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2616.txt when filing the bookmark, if I make a html page with no title specified, or empty title specified, the url is used as the name, too. If the document has a title, and it is "Untitled Document" (and there are plenty of those out there), I'm not sure anything else should be used instead. Reporter, can you give some examples?
http://www.mozilla.org/owners.html was filed in my bookmarks Jan 4th, 2003, without a name. Today I pulled it into another folder, and got the name owners.html. This was filed 25.03.03 without a name, and today gives tods.htm http://www.datenschutz.thueringen.de/tods.htm Seems that I´ve missed the progress in bookmarks.htm. I´ve searched 560 bookmarks bugs, and didn´t find this one, but didn´t check it before posting. Recommend marking worksforme, fixed, invalid, or whatever.
