I switched from mozilla 1.0 to 1.3 today and could not pop my mails.
It turned out that this is directly related to whether I use ssl or not.
Mozilla reports the following message with ssl:

WARNING: no registered socket provider, file nsSocketTransport2.cpp, line 698
Exception : In mail commands

without everything is fine (ssl worked in mozilla 1.0, though).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn on Use Secure connection (SSL) in your server settings
2. Hit Get Messages
3.

Actual Results:
Nothing, except the message to stdout/stderr (?)
WARNING: no registered socket provider, file nsSocketTransport2.cpp, line 698
Exception : In mail commands

Expected Results:
Got my messages ;-)
