Steps to reproduce:

Ran Firefox following update from 144.x to 145.01

Actual results:

More or less constant >100% CPU usage. Everything runs like molasses.

Expected results:

Running normally, CPU usage should be reasonable.

Awful experience since updating to 145 !

When I look at about:processes while doing nothing, even right after starting firefox with 0 website loaded, the firefox process often goes up to 100%.

Which is reflected by firefox usage : every few seconds, firefox just freezes and I can do absolutely nothing !

It never happened before.

I changed absolutely nothing recently in my firefox settings or extensions used.

Wayne, please update Firefox to the latest release (146.0 as of December 10). If the problem persists, try refreshing your profile.

Could not reproduce on latest 146.0 using Win11.
