User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/142.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

Platform: Linux, Ubuntu 24.04, Gnome, Wayland.

Go to https://teams.microsoft.com/v2/

Try start an audio only meeting

Allow microphone permissions

Actual results:

The in-page dialog "Select Allow to let microsoft Teams use your mic and camera..." appears and it never goes away. Only way to continue is to completely reload the page.

You end up here regardless of if you have give permissions before or not.

Ernst, would you mind trying the same steps in a new profile? You can create a new profile under about:profiles and then delete it after testing.

Capturing a logging profile may also be helpful for us to debug the issue. The steps to do this are:

  • Go to about:logging, select the WebRTC preset, click Start Logging
  • In another tab, reproduce your issue in a Teams test call, and make sure that the Teams request for devices happens after you've started logging
  • Back on about:logging, click Stop Logging. Try to keep the repro short as there's a ring buffer holding the logs and it may run out, cutting away the device setup bits that were logged at the beginning.
  • In the new tab that appears with the Firefox Profiler, click the button to upload the profile in the top right corner. Make sure to include hidden threads, and share the link here.

I can no longer reproduce this! Working fine now. Such is the nature of web applications I guess!

This is now happening exactly the same way again. Tested with both Firefox 148 and 150.

Go to https://teams.microsoft.com/v2/

Try start an audio only meeting

Allow microphone permissions

Hi Ernst, does this still reproduce for you? I see that url now redirects to https://teams.cloud.microsoft/

I cannot repro (but I'm on macOS). Where in Teams do I start an "audio only meeting"? When I try "Meet now" in a Test channel, I get prompted for both microphone and camera. The message you get is visible behind the permission prompt while it is visible for me (see screenshot). I think this is how it's supposed to work.

To rule out any Linux-specific Firefox issues, are you having any trouble using devices in https://jan-ivar.github.io/dummy/gum_picker_muted_fallback.html ?

Since this has been sitting with a NI to the reporter for 4 months, I'm going to close as incomplete.
