Preconditions

• Set browser.search.widget.new to true in about:config
• Have the search bar added to the toolbar.
• Google set as default

Steps to reproduce

1. Open the Unified Search Button from the new search box and enter Bing search mode.
2. Go to about:preferences#search and change the default engine to something different than Bing - search mode icon changes to default.
3. Enter a string and perform the search.

Expected result

• Search engine icon should not be modified when search mode is opened and default search engine is changed.

Actual result

• Search mode icon switches to default engine icon, search is made with the engine that was set at step 2 (in this case, Bing).

Regression range

• Not a regression
• Not reproducible with the legacy search bar

Hi Dao,
This isn't reproducible in Address bar.
We filled bug 2002978 today, that might have the same underlying issue.
