Hi,
I tried to reproduce this issue using Firefox 145.0 (2025-11-03) and Firefox 147.0a1 (2025-12-08) on macOS 15 and Windows 10 by following the steps in the description, but I was not able to do so.
Are there any additional steps, settings, or details that I might be missing? Is this still reproducible with a clean profile?
Thank you!
It's randomly and rarely happening. Not sure why.
I think the webpage is loaded behind. But that loading is not disappearing for some reason.
If I try to reload, ctrl+shift+r, press enter on the address bar the page is the same.
If is there any way to debug this when happens.

Thank you for the report, Marian. When it does work, does the new tab load a search page that searches for the text you dragged?

We'll check AsyncTabSwitcher to see if that can explain why it gets stuck in that loading state.
Marian, did this start happening recently, or has this happened to you for some time? If you can, please attach information from about:support
Happened with 135 too, I used that version until 1-2 weeks ago.
I add the support when I get home.

Async tab switcher supports debug logging that can be enabled from about:config. Could you please create browser.tabs.remote.logSwitchTiming (Boolean type) and set it to true, and then check if the browser console has any relevant output when you see the bug again? Thanks!
