RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1996961

People

(Reporter: espace.live, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:145.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/145.0

Steps to reproduce:

To reproduce the bug:

  1. Actually, it's impossible to reproduce reliably because it happens randomly.
  2. You need to enable Firefox's title bar (via the "Customize Toolbar" menu).
  3. For example, if you use Firefox from noon to midnight, the title bar bug may occur at least 3 times between noon and midnight, possibly even 5, 6, 7, or 8 times.
  4. As soon as the problem occurs, Firefox can no longer be closed using the close button, because the red close icon at the top right is missing. You have to close it by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting "Close."

Actual results:

The title bar disappears, including the close, maximize, and minimize icons.

Expected results:

It shouldn’t disappear, and I want to keep the 'with title bar' option checked because I like having titles. I’ve been using this since I got Internet in 2004.

I have Windows 11 Pro. The bug has been happening with Firefox for about 2 or 3 weeks. I always update Firefox on the day it’s released. It’s impossible to know whether the bug comes from a Firefox update or from the Windows update KB "windows11.0-kb5068861-x64" from November 12.

For me, it could be caused by Firefox, because when the bug occurs, you just need to go to "Customize Toolbar," uncheck "Title Bar" at the very bottom, and then check it again, and that fixes the bug. After that, I always close Firefox and reopen it, just to be safe.

"On the first launch of Firefox, the title bar sometimes doesn’t appear, and the close, minimize, and maximize icons are missing as well"

This bug happens frequently, and you always have to deal with it the same way: either by closing Firefox, or by unchecking 'Show Title Bar' and then checking it again.

I haven't tested it without the title bar unchecked. I'd have to test it for a full day, but I don't really feel like doing that.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Win32' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.
