what exactly are you typing in #1 and #9? Also, can you make the summary shorter, like maybe 60 characters or less?

At 1. I enter autoproxy.eur.deuba.com At 3. and 9. I use http://www.mozilla.org/start/ I also shortened the Summary.
Summary: When using automatic proxy configuration and you enter a homepage that is reachable only over the (UID & PWD secured) proxy, the request times out. If you select the ULR and press enter directly after the error message, the pwd popup appears normally. → Startup page fails to load if pw protected autoproxy is needed for it.
the problem is likely that we have to download the PAC file before we should start downloading the home page. unfortunately, we don't have a good way to delay loading the home page, so we just try a direct connection, which like you said times out. this may be a duplicate of some bug in my future pile.
