Affected versions

  • Firefox Enterprise 147.0a1 - 20251205074101

Tested platforms

  • Affected platforms: macOS 26, Windows 11
  • Unaffected platforms: Ubuntu 24

Preconditions

  • install Firefox Enterprise from here

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Firefox Enterprise and log in.
  2. Crash Firefox Enterprise.
  3. Observe the Authentication window

Expected result

  • The SSO ID is prefilled

Actual result

  • The SSO ID is not prefilled

I think this should be fixed now

This issue only happened if the Authentication window was opened automatically after a crash. Now it seems that after a crash, the authentication window is no longer opened, and Firefox is restarted. Please see bug 2005181 comment.
I have tested on Windows 11, macOS 14 and Ubuntu 24 with this build, and after manually closing Firefox, then reopening it after a crash, the SSO ID is correctly prefilled. Please close if this happens as expected. Thank you!

This bug was about the SSO ID not being prefilled, whatever the reason you get back there, right? So I think we can close it

Yes. A note that the SSO ID was not prefilled if the authentication window was shown after a crash. Closing and then reopening the authentication window will prefill it. We can get back to this if needed. Thank you!

Verified as fixed using Firefox Enterprise 149.0a1 (Build ID: 20260221191449) on Windos 11, Ubuntu 24.04 and macOS 15 - the SSO ID is now prefilled after crashing Firefox Enterprise.
