Why I Have Not Reported This To WebCompat First

I have reported this here, per:

  1. github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/34096

  2. github.com/MicrosoftEdge/WebView2Feedback/issues/4097

…which have, all, been accepted. Even at issues.chromium.org/issues/40287945, which wasn't accepted (erroneously, due to the aforementioned), many state that this affects Firefox, which I corroborate.

Conducted Diagnosis

All that I observe fail in //*[@id="toolbox-tab-webconsole"] is:

I'd post the HAR, but I don't believe that firefox-146.0-3.fc43 sanitises it as chromium-143.0.7499.109-2 purports to, and I can't be bothered to LLM-generate some RegEx to remove headers.

Thank you for opening the bug. In order to debug this further, could you please capture http logs for the issue?
Kindly select networking preset and log the output to a file and share.
If you’re concerned about privacy and prefer not to share the logs through the tool, you can email them directly to necko@mozilla.com.

Additionally, since this does not work in chromium based browsers as well, have you contacted the website for any known issues?

Attached. I've attempted to log as little as is feasible, from a new about:profiles#xpointer(//*[@id="profiles"]/div[$N]), where it also reproduces.

Yes:

I'm unable to sign-in to my Sony account. All I see is:

    Can't connect to the server.
    (0.373e1202.1755348927.249415c)

I've tried on multiple devices with multiple OSes. It worked two days ago, but appeared to fail after I registered for the Sony Community (XenForo?).

I appear to not be the sole person with this problem, per https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/ft1fhd/a_connection_to_the_server_could_not_be/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button! That's a few hundred affected.

Thanks for the log, but I can’t find any networking issues in it.
Unfortunately, the log doesn’t tell us why the server returns a 403 error.

At this point, I think this is a web compatibility issue and we’ll need to contact Sony.

I agree, because I've since ascertained that this is more reliable inside Fenix, and is bypassable with a CTAP2 key registered to the Sony account.

In which case, should I re-file at github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/new?

I've tried to contact them directly, but their support sends me in circles, no matter how verbose or concise I attempt to be.

Yeah, that's probably the best way forward.
