Details

Mozilla 1.4b 2003040504 Windows 98SE Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Mail/News in 3-pane window mode 2-small over 1-large 2. Open news or mail server from list in left (small pane) 3. Open mailbox or news server/group , read mail/article 4. Collapse server, open another one which will expand the enter list again (full pane. 5. Open server, click on group to read This only started with 1.4a, going back to 1.3 shows normal display. See http://www.ufaq.org/display.jpg for result. Note: Minotaur not on system in case there may be a conflict. This happens with a Mozilla install on my Notebook where there has never been a Mozilla build before.
I started getting this as well as soon as I installed 1.4a release. I am running on Win2000 so the OS should be changed to windows I think. On my system, it seems to be related (triggered) to how many newsgroups are in the left pane. If I have lots, and then select a newsgroup, followed by highlighting a message, the bottom pane is messed up.
I installed the latest 1.4b nightly on my laptop where Mozilla has never been installed. One mail account, one news server (Mozilla) and only 6 groups. Problem exists. I can't see how the number of groups is affecting this bug as regards the laptop install.
On my machine, I have 12 servers defined (2 email, 1 local folders, and the rest news servers). This symptom does not always occur with every server/newsgroup. If I move the default horizontal level of the separator between top and bottom windows, the behaviour changes (i.e. some newsgroups and messages cause this to occur and other dont). This seems to be a factor somehow (I am just trying to find ways to reproduce this, not suggest causes as I am not looking at source code at present). Also just to clarify, this appears for me to be a window drawing refresh issue. Whenever it does occur, if I click and drag the horizontal window separator to resize it, the lower pane immediately clears itself up.
