Note

• A tab note on the YouTube video page is retained after navigating to another video/music or Home page. The note disappears only after refreshing.

Steps to reproduce

1. Load https://www.youtube.com.
2. Search for "new music 2026", click on a video and play it.
3. Add a note.
4. Click on the YouTube menu and select the "Music" option from the "Explore" section, or select the "Home" option or search for other music.

Expected result

• Another YouTube video page is reloaded; the tab note should not be retained.

Actual result

• Another YouTube video/music/Home page is reloaded.
• The tab note is retained.

Regression range

• Not a regression.

The same behavior can be seen for Spotify; the note is retained regardless of the audio/video playing or URL currently loaded in address bar.

I observe similar behavior when I test on YouTube. Capturing a few additional details here:

Steps to reproduce

• Load https://www.youtube.com.
• Click on any video (e.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE1zM96Nl7c)
• Add a tab note [in my browser toolbox, I can see that www.youtube.com is captured as the canonical URL]
• Click on any other video on YouTube
• Observe that the tab note is still shown
• Navigate the same tab away from YouTube
• Observe that the tab note is gone [as expected]
• Navigate back either to the original video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE1zM96Nl7c) or to www.youtube.com
• Observe that the tab note does not display
