we've had some bugs like bug 2010416, bug 2010192, bug 2008969 where things weren't quite hooked up correctly but might have been caught sooner with end-to-end tests that try to exercise more than existing tests stubbing out

we can use a http server with streaming like https://searchfox.org/firefox-main/rev/28398d11d39984cc5db08020671e7dd0d1408ec0/toolkit/components/ml/tests/browser/head.js#792,827 from bug 1990599
