Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:147.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/147.0
Steps to reproduce:
(Fedora 42 Workstation; Gnome 48; Wayland; all last updated Thursday morning, January 15, 2026)
Firefox has crashed numerous times in the past at least 3 days, all since updating to 147.0 on January 15, 2026.
- twice during a jitsi meeting Friday night.
- at least once while connecting or connected to the CIRA Slider web site.
- several times tonight while viewing videos in youtube, some while logged in, some while not logged in.
All crashes were sudden, no symptoms before the crash.
Actual results:
In all cases, it just crashed and a little window about submitting a crash report popped up.
Expected results:
The jitsi meeting should have just continued.
The youtube videos should have just played to completion.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

The crashes look a lot like bug 1990430, but on a newer Firefox version than the landed patch there. Any idea?
